At a time when the Earth's finite natural resources are quickly being depleted, recycling is mandatory.

To help alleviate this situation, the City of Calabasas has implemented programs to aid residents in their recycling efforts. City-wide collection events: battery, electronics, water based paint, and used oil collections were conducted on a regular basis since President Bush declared November 15 as America Recycles. And although Calabasas residents and the nation at large have made significant progress, 50 percent of Calabasas trash could have been diverted away from the landfills and recycled.

Recycling is therefore, vital and mandatory. Everyone must exert the extra effort necessary to decrease the amount of waste produced—become involved in America Recycles Day and continue conserving daily.
